Members of Keiretsu Forum, the world’s largest angel investor group, will be back in Sun Valley July 14 -16, for the organization’s fourth annual gathering. The organization currently has 18 chapters and more than 750 accredited investor members on three continents, including North America, Europe and Asia. More than 225 members have joined the Northwest Chapter which encompasses Seattle, Bellevue, Portland and Boise/Sun Valley since 2005. “Keiretsu” is a Japanese word that stands for collaboration, the culture in which the forum thrives.

In addition to participating in an investment forum featuring at least four presenting companies, Keiretsu Forum members and their guests will have many opportunities to socialize by taking part in a variety of activities, including a “walk around” feast at Sun Valley member Pawan Mehra’s home as well as river rafting, skeet shooting, golf and guided fly fishing.

The keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Rob Wiltbank, Associate Professor of Strategic Management at Willamette University, who will update the members on new research data on the latest angel investing in this economy. Dr. Wiltbank’s research on angel investing performance is the first large empirical examination of the outcomes achieved by angel investors in the U.S.

Members of Keiretsu Forum provide early-stage capital for diverse investment opportunities, including emerging technologies, healthcare/life sciences, real estate, consumer products and other industries with high growth opportunity. Members collaborate in the due diligence, but make their own individual investment decisions.

Keiretsu Forum members possess and share diverse industry expertise, from software, telecom and life sciences to retail and information technology. Many are former CEOs of successful companies and one is a former NFL football player.

The Keiretsu Forum community, founded in 2000 in East Bay of San Francisco, CA, is strengthened through education on angel investing, as well as charitable and social activities. Membership in Keiretsu Forum is by invitation only and is extended to individuals who share that vision and will actively contribute to their community.
